Join Our Growing Design Team!
WAYS Interiors is a full-service residential and commercial interior design firm based in Omaha. We’re looking for a Full-Time Interior Designer who’s creative, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
If you love transforming spaces, working closely with clients, and seeing projects come to life from concept to installation, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Manage and assist with design projects from concept through final installation.
Source furniture, materials, and finishes that align with each client’s vision.
Create digital and physical design presentations (moodboards, layouts, flat lays, etc.).
Lead or participate in client meetings, design presentations, and site visits.
Coordinate product proposals, ordering, tracking, and delivery logistics.
Communicate with vendors, reps, and trades to ensure smooth project flow.
Support and collaborate with design assistants and team members.
Stay current on design trends and bring creative ideas to the table.
What We’re Looking For
2-4 years of interior design experience (residential and/or commercial) preferred but not required.
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field preferred, but not required.
Strong design sense and attention to detail.
Excellent communication, presentation, and client service skills.
Ability to read and interpret floor plans and construction documents.
Proficiency with design software (Floorplanner, Houzz Pro, Canva, Google Workspace).
Organized multitasker who can manage multiple deadlines with ease.
Reliable transportation for local site visits and showroom meetings.
Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs (samples, materials, etc.).

About the Role
WAYS Interiors is seeking a highly organized, proactive Design Assistant to support our designers throughout all phases of our projects, from concept to installation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, resourceful, and excited to grow in a creative, fast-paced design environment.
Responsibilities
Assist designers in coordinating projects through all design phases.
Participate in sourcing and selecting materials, finishes, and furnishings.
Support with client presentations, project notes, and documentation.
Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and trades.
Schedule vendor/trade meetings and attend site visits or installations as needed.
Help prepare proposals, order documentation, and manage product orders through delivery.
Track meeting notes and action items in project management software.
Perform general office or on-site tasks such as picking up samples or assisting during installs.
Collaborate closely with the team to ensure smooth project execution.
Additional duties as assigned by designers or leadership.
Qualifications
Experience in interior design or a related field (2+ years preferred).
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Positive, professional attitude and strong teamwork skills.
Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
Reliable transportation and comfort performing light physical tasks (lifting up to 40 lbs).
Professional personal presentation and customer service skills.

WAYS Interiors offers ongoing internship opportunities for college students seeking real-world experience in interior design and operations. Our program provides exposure to the creative and logistical aspects of our studio, helping students develop professional skills while contributing to active projects.
Program Structure
Our internship schedule is flexible and designed to fit each student’s academic calendar and availability.
Duration and hours are determined based on intern needs and project timelines.
Typical arrangements are part-time or semester-based.
Interns work closely with our Operations and Design teams to support daily studio functions and client projects.
Intern Expectations
Interns are expected to maintain professionalism, reliability, and initiative throughout their time with WAYS Interiors. Expectations include:
Arriving on time and communicating availability clearly.
Completing assigned tasks and assisting with project needs as directed.
Maintaining confidentiality and representing the company professionally.
Tracking hours and submitting logs to the Operations Manager weekly.
